Big Girl Bike

I just happened to stop by Goodwill one day while I was in Hixson, and just as I walked in, they brought out several kids size bicycles to sell. I went over and found this little Disney Princess one that looked like it was in pretty good shape and Olivia just LOVED it. She wanted to get on and ride it all over the store! HA! So we ended up buying it of course. It was.... drumroll please!

$4!!!
I had been planning on getting her one this summer and looked at some at Sears for $65 new! So I was VERY pumped about $4! I couldn't believe it! The tires had been pushed off the wheel a little, but my dad fixed it right up & she got on and rode just a little. She can't figure out the pedaling forward part because on her tricycle, she can pedal forward and backwards.

**Note: We do make her wear a helmet when she rides her scooter or bike, she wasn't really going anywhere in this picture, which is why she doesn't have it on**

Little Gardener

I bought Olivia a little St. Patrick's Day clover grow kit off the dollar rack at Target and she had so much fun planting it. Here it is at Day One...and day 7.... she was so excited to water it every day and watch it grow!
She had so much fun planting it that I went and bought a greenhouse kit and more seeds to plant. We planted African Daisies, Cypress Vine, Tomatoes, Morning Glory, and more Clover.

Bailey loves to help!

The finished product :)

Yay for Spring Weather!

The weather the past week has been so nice! After the long COLD winter we had and the snow, we are all more than ready for spring!!
Olivia has been begging all the time to be outside. She got a new scooter and helmet, but I haven't been able to get her picture on it yet. She goes really fast, which worries me just a little - ha! I'd rather her stick with more safe outside play like in her little car (below).

She still loves the golf set we got her two summers ago. Maybe this summer, she will actually get the hang of hitting the ball!

Saturday we stayed outside most of the day and helped with some yardwork. She also wanted me to get on my bike and ride around while she rode her scooter. I'm definitely a little rusty on a bike! I probably haven't been on one in 6 or 7 years.

Burnt Out

I think several of the other mom's blogs I read have said they are a little burnt out from blogging lately. Well I think I've hit that point too. I'm hoping it's just the weather, because we haven't gotten out and done anything fun lately since it's been so cold.

I have also been very stressed out with school and this is the hardest sememster I think. I have had 3 bad headcolds since school started and just felt in a medicine daze during those times. Olivia has also been sick some too and my great uncle passed away this week. My professors have been fairly understanding of the situation so that's been nice, but it just feels like everything is going wrong this last semester of college. So bring on May 2! I cannot wait to escape the horrid UTC.

I don't think I've mentioned this on the blog either - I have decided to go ahead and start my Master's degree instead of trying to find a job in this economy. I will be attending Lee University in Cleveland and getting a Master's of the Art of Teaching degree which will allow me to teach Business Education 7-12 :) It is a 14 month program in which I will take about 8 classes in the summer of 2010, observe teachers from different schools and different grades in the fall, student teach in the spring, and then finish up with about another 8 classes in the summer of 2011. I will graduate in August of 2011. I am so very excited about it! I will be taking my MAT (grad school entry test) next Friday, so say a prayer for me about that!

So long for now bloggers! Hopefully I will have more to post about as we make our way into March and (hopefully) springtime!

The Great Blizzard of Twenty Ten

So we weren't expecting hardly any snow at all. Ben and I had discussed going up to Knoxville for the weekend because they were "supposed" to get like 9 inches and we thought it would be fun to let O and her cousin play in it together, but then Ben decided we probably shouldn't in case we got stuck up there. I am glad we ended up staying home! We ended up with almost 5 inches at our house, which is a TON for Southeast Tennessee :)

Me and Olivia... Day 1

Sledding Day 2

She wasn't so sure about sledding.

We built a snowwoman :)
